Hey, Diddle, Diddle!

Hey, diddle, diddle!
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon;
The little dog laughed
To see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

History and Origins of Hey, Diddle, Diddle :
The first known date of publication for the lyrics of this nursery rhyme is 1765. The term 'Hey diddle diddle' was a colloquialism used in much the same vein as
"hey nonny no" which can be found in traditional British folk songs. The original title was known as 'High Diddle Diddle' but has since evolved into
'Hey Diddle Diddle.' Source: FamousQuotes.me.uk.
